UNI men’s basketball announces 2022-23 home non-conference slate

CEDAR FALLS – The UNI men’s basketball program will tip off the 2022-23 season in early November as the reigning Missouri Valley Conference regular season champions host seven non-conference opponents inside the McLeod Center.

After hosting an exhibition contest against the University of Dubuque on Nov. 2, the Panthers will open the season at home on Nov. 7 against Wartburg. UNI returns home Thanksgiving weekend on Nov. 26 as the Panthers take on the Huskies of Northern Illinois.

Early December will feature three consecutive home games beginning Dec. 6 as the Toledo Rockets visit Cedar Falls. Toledo enters the season following a regular season championship in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and an appearance in the 2022 NIT.

The Panthers will face off against McNeese State on Dec. 9, before wrapping the homestand on Dec. 12 against the Bulls of South Florida. UNI will close out the home non-conference schedule on Dec. 22 hosting St. Bonaventure. The Panthers will face off against St. Bonaventure for the second straight season after UNI defeated Bonnies last November, 90-80 in a win in western New York.

The full non-conference schedule, as well as the 2022-23 MVC schedule will be released at a later date.
