Mason City man arrested on felony kidnapping charge after allegedly holding a person against their will for days

MASON CITY – A Mason City man was arrested today on a felony kidnapping charge after allegedly holding a person against their will for days.

On Thursday, June 9th shortly before 1:00 PM, officers and fire medics responded to a report that a person had been assaulted and held against their will for several days by a man known to them. The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

A search warrant was served at a residence in the 400 block of 1st Street S.W. in connection with this investigation, Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley said in a statement.

Moises Erreguin-Labra, age 23 of Mason City, was initially arrested for the offense of Serious Assault but was later charged with Kidnapping in the 1st Degree as the investigation developed.

Erreguin-Labra is being held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
