AMES – A teen was arrested for attempted murder after an Ames shooting.
On May 30, 2022 at 12:45 AM, the Ames Police Department responded to Mary Greeley Hospital for a victim of a gunshot wound. Officers discovered the shooting occurred a few minutes earlier in the 600 block of South 17th Street in Ames.
Soon thereafter, the Ames Police Department identified the suspect in this case and charged a juvenile male, 15 years of age, with Attempt to Commit Murder, a class “B” felony. The juvenile has been taken into custody and transported to juvenile detention.
The victim of the gunshot wound remains in the hospital in stable condition. The victim has been identified as Anthony M. Davis, 18, of Ames.
This case remains under investigation with the potential for additional charges.
