Ankeny man accused of burglary and stealing in Northern Iowa

SAC COUNTY, IOWA – An Ankeny man was arrested and accused of burglary and stealing in Northern Iowa.

Wednesday April 20, 2022, sheriff’s officials arrested 35-year-old Alexander Ross Wadsley from Ankeny after he was stopped near the Storm Lake Airport by Buena Vista County sheriff’s deputies. Wadsley had been spotted by a concerned citizen at a property at 2254 220th Street, Early, Iowa. This property had been burglarized recently. The concerned citizen notified law enforcement and followed the vehicle Wadsely was in.

A snowmobile trailer located in Buena Vista County earlier this week that had been reported stolen to Sac County on February 10, 2022. During the recovery of the trailer, law enforcement was told that the trailer had been purchased from Wadsley. Trail camera footage from a property located at 2254 220th Street, Early, Iowa shows the same vehicle Wadsley was stopped in entering that property several times and stealing items.

Wadsley was booked in the Sac County Jail and charged with burglary 3rd degree, theft 2nd degree and theft 3rd degree. He is currently being held on a $12,000.00 cash bond.

The Sac County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank the concerned citizen who reported this suspicious activity. We encourage citizens to report to law enforcement things that seem out of place to them. In this case, because of this report, we were able to apprehend a burglary suspect.

That’s fantastic that he was caught for stealing and burglary. This man is a n absolute menace to society. If he could be prosecuted for rape…that would be phenomenal! He needs to be locked up for the rest of his life.
