Arthur “Art” Lewis Aberly passed away at Colonial Manor of Elma in Elma, Iowa on Monday, April 18, 2022, at the age of 80.
Art was the son of Lewis and Alice (Stevenson) Aberly. He was born on August 26, 1941 in rural Howard County near Lime Springs, Iowa.
He graduated from Cresco High School in 1959. Art married Audrey Bateman and they later divorced. Art was a farmer and cattleman all of his life. He owned and operated the Cresco Livestock Market for more than 20 of those years, all while continuing to farm and raising beef cattle.
Art is survived by his sister, Karen (Gary) Shelstad, nephew, Jeff (Alexi) Shelstad, cousins and friends.
Greeting him in death were his parents, stillborn sister, Margaret and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place at the Saratoga Cemetery.
