CLEAR LAKE – A pair of Ventura teens were hospitalized after an auto crash near Clear Lake Wednesday morning.
The accident took place On Wednesday, April 20, 2022. At about 7:41 AM, a 2005 Nissan van driven by 17-year-old Sarah Sokol of Ventura was traveling eastbound on 300th Street, approaching Balsam Ave. At the same time, a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by 22-year-old Brenna Furst of Clear Lake was traveling northbound on Balsam, approaching the intersection with 300th Street. The Nissan van failed to stop at the stop sign, colliding with the Chevy Tahoe. The collision caused both vehicles to enter the northeast ditch.
As a result of the collision, Sarah Sokol and her passenger, 15-year-old Chloe Sokol, also of Ventura, were privately transported to a hospital. Seat belts were used by all occupants.
The accident remains under investigation.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ventura Fire Department and Mason City fire medics.
