CENTERVILLE – The NIACC baseball team dropped a 16-8 decision to Indian Hills Sunday in an ICCAC contest at Pat Daugherty Field.
The second game of the scheduled twinbill was postponed. The two teams will complete their 3-game series with a doubleheader starting at noon on Monday.
NIACC (12-9 overall, 2-4 in the ICCAC) led 6-4 after scoring four runs in the top of the fourth inning, three runs scored on a home run by Cody Kelly. It was Kelly’s ninth home run of the season.
Indian Hills, which is a NJCAA Division I school, tied the contest at 6-6 with two runs in its half of the fourth inning.
The game was tied at 8-8 after five innings with each team scoring two runs. NIACC’s Cole Fuecker hit a solo home run in the fifth inning, his third of the season.
Indian Hills (17-5, 7-0) broke the game open with eight runs in the sixth inning.
NIACC’s Logan Milene was 3 for 4 and Jon Koehn was 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
