Iowa man evades death when angry wife retrieves gun and fires at him during argument

CEDAR RAPIDS – An Iowa man evaded death when his angry wife retrieved a gun and fired at him during an argument.

Sunday night just after 8 PM, police officers in Cedar Rapids were dispatched to an address in the 300 block of 18th St. SE for a report of a domestic dispute with a possible shot fired. Officers arrived and made contact with the victim, a 30-year old male outside of the residence. He claimed he and his wife were in an argument when she went to the car and retrieved a gun. The vicious female returned to the living room where he was seated on the couch and fired a single round at him.

“The shot did not take effect,” cops say.

The frightened husband fled the residence and called police. All parties were interviewed and the firearm was located.

Police say “the wife” was arrested and charged with assault, domestic abuse with a weapon, intimidation with a weapon and attempted murder.
