Todd Blodgett Opinion: U.S. Border Patrol Crippled – by Biden & His Comrades

Abraham Lincoln said that if America ever ends, “it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.” Now, as Honest Abe looks down at the nation he led and saved, his worst fears have transpired, due to President Biden’s nation-wrecking, putrid policies. The Immigration & Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) announced March 11 that total enforcement arrests had dropped by nearly 40 percent from the previous year, while the number of individuals apprehended who had committed aggravated felonies nearly doubled. Worse, total deportations have dropped to the lowest level in the agency’s history – 59,011 – under Team Biden’s disastrous mismanagement. Biden’s minions have forced ICE to alter how and where it operates: for example, schools and hospitals are no longer subject to enforcement actions, as they were under Donald Trump. The despicable message that Biden and his lackeys send to illegal aliens is: Break our laws, and illicitly invade us – and Americans will educate your kids, fund your health care, and give you benefits which are intended for US citizens.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has emasculated the ‘Public Charge’ rule that the Trump administration had facilitated. Under President Trump, when authorities determined that would-be immigrants, even those legally trying to enter the US, would need Medicaid, EBT cards, SSI, Section 8, Food Stamps, HUD housing vouchers, etc., for more than 12 months, they were considered a “public charge” and denied entry. Such people also couldn’t receive a green card. But Mayorkas claims that Trump’s policy “wasn’t consistent with our nation’s values”, and called President Biden’s reversal “fair and humane.” He’s dangerously clueless. Biden’s inane, nation-imperiling policies impel illegals who aren’t even from Mexico, or Central America, or South America, to crash our gates, and be rewarded.

The Trump administration’s broader definition of ‘Public Charge’ made it much easier for immigration officials to deny entry to those who were likely to cost US taxpayers. By favoring indigent illegals over those who pay his salary, Biden couldn’t be more different than his predecessor – who always donated HIS salary to charities and Americans in need. Elections matter.
Among the 15,000+ migrants who formed a tent city under a bridge in Mexico are Jimmy and Catheline Nivose. After trekking north from Chile, these Haitians were apprehended by US Border Patrol agents, taken into custody and flown to California. Two weeks later, at taxpayers’ expense, they were flown to Fort Lauderdale, Florida – their preferred destination. There, they were given new cell phones while bureaucrats urged them to apply for benefits that Trump restricted to Americans. Hector Garza, who is the President of the Laredo, Texas chapter of the US National Border Patrol Union, said “frustration” permeates the agency, as agents aren’t allowed to do their jobs. CNN, The New York Post, and other media reported that when Mr. Mayorkas met, in January, with US Border Patrol agents in Laredo, they noticed that the Secretary was wearing a USBP badge. An agent asked him if he’d graduated from the United States Border Patrol Academy. When Mayorkas replied that he hadn’t, several agents bitterly complained they’re being pulled from doing their jobs at the border to help process illegal border-crossers. According to news reports, a BP agent turned his back on the repugnant DHS Secretary.

These dedicated professionals aren’t only precluded from doing their job; they’re being forced to assist in the deliberate sabotage of US national security. President Biden – a career politician for 50+ years – has sold out to an anti-American, ‘Woke’, politically correct cabal. On Day One of his presidency, Biden unilaterally negated the agreement between the US and Mexico, facilitated by Mr. Trump, that required Mexico to station Mexican Army troops on Mexico’s side of our shared border. That agreement was highly efficacious, and aided, tremendously, in enabling President Trump to get the border under control. The President of Mexico, AMLO, didn’t try to end that effective arrangement; Biden killed it. But WHY would any leader of any country ever even consider taking such stupid, unilateral action that harms his own citizens?

Biden’s radical agitators includes several high-ranking members of his White House staff, his closest advisers and Cabinet members – fools like Alejandro Mayorkas. These pathetic Leftists oppose enforcing federal law at our border; they actually WANT the illegals here. A nefarious scheme – enabled by conniving, arrogant bureaucrats, scheming swamp dwellers of the ‘Deep State’, and uber-rich, international elitists – is underway, which could cripple our national security, undermine the US Economy, and inevitably destroy America – just as President Lincoln had feared.

These deceitful Democrats know that impoverished, low-skilled, illiterate and unskilled aliens will likely become dependent on US taxpayers. They will oppose the type of pro-USA policies which protected Americans from illegal aliens swarming our country. When US workers suffer lower wages and/or lose their jobs due to the illicit presence of these taxpayer-subsidized lawbreakers, will Team Biden even care? It also doesn’t seem to concern them that American students will suffer from the influx of non-English speaking students, who will slow down the pace of, and impede progress in, their classrooms. That will benefit CHINA, which just might be central to Biden’s plan. If these deviously manipulative subversives aren’t stopped, America will be destroyed – from within, precisely as Abe Lincoln feared.
