OBIT: Frances Irene Herrera

Frances Irene Herrera, 84, of Carnation, WA died Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, with Rev. Jake Dunne officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Frances was born August 13, 1937, the daughter of John Clifford Kelly and Florence Helen (Robertson) Kelly in Nora Springs, IA. She married Jesse James Herrera on July 6, 1957 in Garner, Iowa.

A graduate of Nora Springs-Rock Falls High School (1955) and North Iowa Area Community College (1986), Frances worked at Decker Meat Packing Plant and Armour-Eckrich Meats in Mason City for over 20 years, before working at Target another 30 years in both Mason City and Redmond, WA.

Frances enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, cooking, baking, gardening and putting smiles on peoples faces. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sammamish, WA.

Frances is survived by her husband, Jesse Herrera; son, Jeff Herrera; daughter, Teri Herrera; brothers, John Kelly and Tony Kelly; grandchildren, Riley Herrera, Mekena Herrera, Katherine Herrera and Emily Herrera.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Thomas Neal Kelly.
