MASON CITY – For the fourth time in his career, NIACC’s Christian Minto has been selected as the ICCAC wrestler of the week for the week of Jan. 24-30.

Minto, who is top-ranked at 165 pounds, topped Ellsworth’s eighth-ranked Mirzo Khayitov 7-2 in his lone match of the week.

Minto, who is 7-0 in the 2021-22 season, also won the ICCAC wrestler of week award for the week of Dec. 6-12, 2021. Minto won the award for the week of March 1-7 in the 2021 season and won the award for the week of Feb. 10-16 in the 2019-20 season.

Minto is the defending 165-pound national champion and has a career record of 42-1.

NIACC returns to action Wednesday in a dual meet at Iowa Western.

NIACC sophomore forward Bradley Andrews was selected as the ICCAC Division II men’s basketball player of the week for the week of Jan. 24-30.

Andrews, who is from Charles City, scored 57 points in four games as the Trojans went 3-1. Andrews matched his career high with 25 points, including five 3-point goals, in a 90-60 win over the Luther College Junior Varsity on Jan. 24.

Andrews scored 19 points, including six 3-point goals, in a 74-65 victory over Iowa Central on Jan. 26. Andrews also collected 17 rebounds in the four-game stretch.

For his career, Andrews is 63 of 155 from 3-point range (40.6 percent). The 63 career 3-point goals ranks 36th on NIACC’s career 3-point list.

NIACC’s Myles Tucker was selected as the ICCAC player of the week for the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5.

NIACC (16-6 overall, 5-4 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at home against Iowa Western in an ICCAC contest. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
