MARSHALLTOWN – An autopsy revealed a Mason City man was stabbed to death, and police in Marshalltown have charged a suspect with murder.
On January 3, 2022, the Marshalltown Police Department began an investigation into the death of Yannick Mangubu, age 30; his obituary says he lived in Mason City, and his funeral was held January 15 in Mason City. Mr. Mangubu died on January 2, 2022. An autopsy determined Mr. Mangubu died as the result of injuries sustained after being stabbed.
On Monday, January 24, 2022, the Marshalltown Police Department and the Iowa Division of Tnvestigation arrested Kalalizi Jean Baptiste Madogo, age 48, of Marshalltown. Madogo as been charged with Murder in the First Degree (Class A Felony). Mr. Madogo was to the Marshall County Jail and is being held pending an initial court
