Rick D. Nolan, the son of Herman and Elsie (Laue) Leiding, was born in Lake Belt, MN on January 12, 1932. He died on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Aspire of Estherville at the age of 89 years.
Rick attended Maple Hill Grade School until the 11th grade. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1952. He was honorably discharged in 1954. He married Jean Goraczkowski on May 27, 1977. The couple made their home in Estherville where Rick worked as a machinist for Arts Way, Crystal Tips and at Ag Chem over the years.
He was a member of Crossroads Community Church and was very active as a coach for the Special Olympics.
Rick is survived by his son, Josh Nolan, Estherville; his step-daughter, JoLynn Rattenborg, Omaha, NE; son-in-law, Carl Wade, Fairmont, MN; grandchildren, Lucas and Colin Wade; his adopted daughter, Tammy Cheney; and his brothers, James (Judi) Leiding, Kunkletown, PA, and Richard Rick, Coon Rapids, MN.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Nolan; his daughter, Amy Wade, his parents, a sister, Ardella Still and a brother, Waldemar Leiding.
