AMES – The 13th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones are set to take on 15th-ranked Purdue Sunday night in Humboldt, Iowa at the Humboldt High School Gym. It’s a homecoming for both head coaches, as Iowa State’s Kevin Dresser is a 1981 Humboldt graduate, while Purdue’s Tony Ersland is a 1992 graduate. The match is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. and will be available on FloWrestling.com.

KEY STORYLINES
-Iowa State Head Coach Kevin Dresser won back-to-back state titles for Humboldt in 1980 and 1981. Purdue Head Coach Tony Ersland won back-to-back state titles for the Wildcats in 1991 and 1992. Dresser went 112-11-1 as a Wildcat.
-Sunday will be the first dual meet outside of Hilton Coliseum for the Cyclones. Iowa State is 2-1 in duals this year.
-The match with Purdue will be the second of the year against a ranked team for the Cyclones and also the second-straight against a Big 10 opponent, as the Cyclones faced top-ranked Iowa two weeks ago.
-Caleb Fuessley (125), Isaac Judge (165) and Ethan Andersen (285) all finished third at the UNI Open.
-Four Cyclones picked up victories over Iowa on Dec. 5, including Yonger Bastida defeating third-ranked Jacob Warner 4-3 at 197 pounds.
-Iowa State opened the dual meet portion of the schedule Nov. 27 with a pair of victories over Army and California Baptist.
-The Cyclones won seven bouts against the Black Knights in the opener for the 25-9 victory. In the second match of the day, Iowa State won all 10 matches in a 39-0 victory over the Lancers.
