Cedar Falls police claim they solved 2019 killing, charge two men with murder

CEDAR FALLS – Cedar Falls police claim they solved a 2019 killing in which a man was shot dead in the downtown, and have charged two men with murder.

On December 4, 2019, at 9:17 PM, officers with the Cedar Falls Police were dispatched to 112 Main Street #2 on a shots fire call. When officers arrived on scene they learned that a male had been shot. The suspects fled the area before officers arrived. The male victim was found in the apartment deceased. The investigation into the incident continued. Later, the name of the deceased was revealed; 24-year-old Grant Thomas Saul died in the incident.

Finally, on November 29th, 2021, the Cedar Falls Police Department charged Keyon Roby and James Wright-Buls with 1st Degree Murder and 1st Degree Robbery. This is in connection with the December 4th, 2019 incident in which Grant Saul was shot and killed at 112 Main St in Cedar Falls. Both subjects were inmates at the Black Hawk County Jail at the time the charges were filed.
