CEDAR FALLS – AJ Green is the second Panther of the season to earn Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors for the UNI men’s basketball team.
Green, a junior, led UNI in scoring with 35 points in the Panther road win against No. 16 Bonaventure. With that effort, he jumped to No. 14 on all-time scoring list among all Panthers in the UNI program.
His nine three-pointers in the game tied the UNI program record for most three-point field goals made in a single game. The original mark was set by current Panther Noah Carter against Western Kentucky in the 2020-21 season.
Green also recorded five rebounds and four assists. Overall, he was 11-for-18 in field goals and 9-for-15 in three-pointers. He went 4-for-5 in free throws. He’s currently sitting in fifth among all Panthers for career record of three-point field goals made with 190.
Green is a 6-foot, 4-inch guard from Cedar Falls, Iowa. He is majoring in movement and exercise science: sport psychology with minors in sport administration and strength and conditioning. He is the son of Kyle and Michele Green. His sister, Emerson, plays on the UNI women’s basketball team.
