OBIT: Delores “Dorie” Wojohn

Delores “Dorie” Wojohn, age 80, of Charles City, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Dorie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home, 1205 South Main Street in Charles City, with Pastor Patty Kellogg officiating.

Burial will be at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City with Brad Wojohn, Justin Wojohn, Derek Hutzell, Braxton Wojohn, Jadon Jeffries, Sean Theisen and Rick Boehmer serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 and will continue one hour before the funeral on Saturday.

Delores “Dorie” Darlene (Hoy) Wojohn was born September 19, 1941 in Charles City, the daughter of Marion and Lois (Butterfield) Hoy. She and her six brothers and one sister grew up in Charles City.

Dorie married the love of her life, Edward “Ed” Wojohn, on June 18, 1960 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale and they were married for 58 years. She was the loving mother of Brad (Mindy) Wojohn, Ginger Hutzell and JoJo (Sean) Theisen; devoted grandma to Chasity Jeffries, Justin Wojohn, Derek Hutzell, Braxton Wojohn and Walen Wojohn; and great-grandma to Jadon Jeffries, Katlyn Jeffries, Aiden Wojohn and Harper Hutzell.

Dorie loved to trout fish, camp, play cards, gamble and spend time with her family. She was a lieutenant in the Salvation Army and a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Dorie is survived by her children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and brothers: Doug Hoy of Wisconsin and Rob (Sally) Hoy of Minnesota.

Dorie was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; and five siblings: Pat Boehmer, Jim Hoy, Buster Hoy, Dutch Hoy and Melvin Hoy.
