Vehicle rollover in rural Mason City delivers minor injuries to vehicle occupants

MASON CITY – A vehicle rollover in rural Mason City delivered minor injuries to the vehicle occupants.

At about 8:26 PM on October 21, Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident in the 13000 block of Thrush Avenue, Southeast of Mason City. The driver of the vehicle, Terrance Matlock, 20, of Rockwell, IA, stated that he struck one deer while trying to miss a second deer and lost control of the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu he was driving. Matlock went into the East ditch and rolled the Malibu a few times. Both Matlock and the passenger, Anna Yerman, 18, of Latimer, received minor injuries as a result of the accident.

The Malibu was totaled.

Mason City Fire Medics responded to the scene and both were evaluated but neither were transported to Mercy One for treatment.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mason City Fire Medics.
