Albert Lea police investigate shooting after two houses shot up

ALBERT LEA, MN – Police in Albert Lea are investigating after two houses were shot up.

On October 5, 2021 at approximately 3:56 a.m. the Albert Lea Police Department (ALPD) received several reports of shots fired in the 500 Block of Euclid Ave. Officers arrived in the area and located multiple spent handgun casings. Officers also located a vehicle and residence with gunshot damage.

At the time of this incident an unknown male was observed leaving the area on a bicycle. He was wearing white hoodie sweatshirt with the hood up. This individual is wanted for questioning related to this incident.

On the same date at approximately 5:00 a.m. the ALPD received multiple reports of shots fired in the 1000 Block of Dunham Street. Officer arrived in the area and located multiple spent handgun casings and found that a residence had sustained gunshot damage.

These incidents are believed to be related and are part of an active investigation. Police claim no ongoing threat to public safety is believed to exist.

Residents who live in the area are encourage to review their home security/camera systems for any activity that may be related to these incidents.
