Woman nabbed in hotel after robbing downtown Des Moines bank

DES MOINES – Cops nabbed a woman in a hotel after robbing a downtown Des Moines bank this week.

At approximately 10:01 AM, a female suspect entered a bank in the 500 block of Walnut Street in downtown Des Moines and presented a note to the teller. No weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported. The suspect was described as a white female adult, approx. 5’5″, approximately 160 lbs.

At approximately 7:11 PM the same evening, following up on a tip from the public, officers detained 32-year-old Kari Martin at a motel in the 2300 blk of SE 14th St. Following further investigation by detectives, Martin was charged with one count of Robbery – 2nd Degree.
