Patrick James Gallagher entered this world on January 8, 1940. First time parents, James Joseph, age 28, and June E. (Anderson), age 24, arrived in Cresco, Iowa driving a horse and sleigh. Their family grew to include Shirley, Carol and Wayne. Patrick and Shirley were only two years apart and he was in charge of watching her and his other siblings. He was a natural care giver with a loving spirit and boundless energy. Did this energy lend itself to enjoying school? Well not exactly, but it gave him a great work ethic. James and June raised their children in Mason City ,Iowa. This is where he met and fell in love with Betty Jean Sexton. The couple was married on June 20, 1959 in Mason City, Iowa. Pat worked as a union sheet metal worker until he retired.

Together Pat and Betty had 3 children: Michelle (Holte), Julie (Imoto) and Steven. Patrick is a proud grandparent to Courtney and Melvin Holte, Rollie, Jarryd (Annie), Jordan(Paige) and Maya Imoto, and Nora Gallagher. He loved his boat and looked forward to taking his children and grandchildren fishing and tubing. He was also very active in attending sports and dance events as well as teaching the grandchildren to drive, if you can imagine that! He loved teaching Sunday school and was always the first one to step up if anyone was in need of help. Patrick’s legacy will be carried out lovingly by his family and friends, and thus will never be forgotten.

Family members that precede him in death are his parents, James and June; twin siblings; sisters, Shirley and Carol; and a grandson, Addison.
