EMMET COUNTY – An Northern Iowa man was arrested recently on multiple charges as the result of a traffic stop in Armstrong.
According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, a sheriff’s deputy on patrol in Armstrong, Iowa last Saturday afternoon initiated a traffic stop on 4th Street and B Avenue after observing a traffic violation.
Upon investigation at the scene, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were discovered. As a result, 45-year-old Curtis Lappegard of Armstrong was placed under arrest at the scene. Lappegard was transported to the Emmet County Jail where he was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Improper Overtaking on the Right.
