ELGIN, IOWA – A man wanted in Iowa for molesting a child was finally caught in Michigan.
In August of 2020 the Fayette county sheriff’s office asked the public’s help in locating a person wanted in Fayette County. Scott Lee Czappa, age 29, formerly of Portage, WI but most recently living in Elgin, IA was said to be driving a Dodge Durango painted to look as a police car. An investigation revealed that Czappa had sexually abused a minor female. A nationwide Warrant of arrest has been issued for Scott Lee Czappa where he has been charged with sexual abuse in the 3rd Degree, a class C Felony. He may have fled the area and possibly have returned to Wisconsin.
This month, Scott Lee Czappa was arrested in Ironwood Michigan after receiving a tip of where he may be living. Deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office transported Czappa from Ironwood, MI to the Fayette County jail to face his criminal charges. He is currently in the Fayette County Jail on $10,000.00 cash bond.
