PALO ALTO COUNTY – A South Dakota man wanted in Floyd county since 2019 for theft was nabbed at a gas station but quickly made bail and was released.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 1:22 AM, a deputy observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the gas pumps at Sparky’s Convenience Store in Mallard, Iowa. The deputy made contact with the driver and only occupant of the vehicle. As a result of the encounter, the deputy arrested 39-year-old Christopher M. Albers of Sioux Falls, South Dakota on a Floyd County Iowa arrest warrant for 5th degree theft, a simple misdemeanor.

Albers was able to post the $300.00 cash bond and was given a court date to appear on the charge in Floyd County.
