FAYETTE COUNTY – A drug bust in this Northern Iowa county netted three suspects and plenty of illegal substances and cash.
On June 16, 2021, at approximately 5:15 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call of suspicious activity near a canoe access in Elgin, Iowa. Fayette County Deputies arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. After multiple interviews a series of arrests were made and search warrants executed on multiple vehicles.
Mikel Normann, age 39 of West Union, was arrested and charged with driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Ashley white was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine over 5 g with intent to deliver, B Felony; possession of controlled substance marijuana 3rd offense, D felony; and possession of controlled substance methamphetamine 3rd offense, D Felony.
Shane Allen Howard Jr, age 37 of Wadena, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine over 5 g with intent to deliver, B Felony; possession of controlled substance methamphetamine 1st offense a serious misdemeanor; possession of controlled substance marijuana 1st offense, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
Approximately 66 grams of methamphetamine were seized along with 17 grams of marijuana, multiple vials of THC oils and over $2800 cash.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Iowa State Patrol and West Union Police Drug Canine.
