Man shoots and kills his father, mother and sister in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS – An Iowa man shot and killed his father, mother and sister in Cedar Rapids today, police say.

On Tuesday, June 15 at 8:23 a.m. the City’s Joint Communications Center dispatched Cedar Rapids Police officers and other first responders to a possible shooting inside a residence at 4414 Oak Leaf Court NE.

Police officers arrived on scene and found multiple victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. There were three family members inside the home who were found deceased. A fourth member of the family was transported to UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The names of the victims who were found deceased are:

Jan Perry Jackson, DOB/09-25-1959, age 61

Melissa Ferne Jackson, DOB/07-22-1952, age 68

Sabrina Hana Jackson, DOB/02-25-2002, age 19

There has been an ongoing investigation throughout the day and as a result of the investigation, in cooperation with the Linn County Attorney’s Office, the fourth member of the family, identified as Alexander Ken Jackson, age 20, has been arrested for three counts of Murder-1st Degree.

Alexander Jackson was treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound to the foot and, upon release from the hospital a short time ago, was transported to the Linn County Correctional Center. He is accused of using a firearm to kill his father, mother, and sister.

Kids have no responsibility today. They think there is no penalty no matter what they do.

KIDS…..What good are they??

The police report stated that the dad told him he had to move out and get a job.

Seems like an appropriate response for this generation.

Idk what in Hades would posess anyone, mentally ill or not, to kill their family members.
