Police hunt down alleged shooter in Waterloo

WATERLOO – A shooting in Waterloo months ago and a police investigation led to a search warrant and the arrest of the alleged shooter connected to the incident.

On March 21ST, 2021 the Waterloo Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Sumner Avenue in Waterloo. When police arrived, they located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The investigation into this matter led to arrest warrants being obtained for Kalon D. Bruce age 28, of Waterloo. The investigation further led to the service of a search warrant at 308 Courtland Ave, Waterloo on June 2nd, 2021. As a result of this search warrant, Bruce was located and arrested in reference the March shooting and is charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Willful Injury, and Carrying Weapons. In addition a .45 caliber handgun was recovered.

Bruce remains jailed, awaiting further court proceedings.
