Women’s College Basketball: Iowa 88, Nebraska 81

LINCOLN, NE – The Iowa Hawkeyes (11-6, 7-6) defeated Nebraska (9-8, 7-7), 88-81 in a Big Ten Conference road game. The Hawkeyes are 7-6 on Nebraska’s home court.

Freshman Caitlin Clark’s career-high 39 points is a Pinnacle Bank Arena record – men or women. Clark recorded her third consecutive and seventh-season 30-point game. Her seven 30-point games are the most in the NCAA this season. She is the second freshman since the 2015-16 season to record seven 30-point games – the first was Texas A&M’s Chennedy Carter during the 2017-18 season. Carter played 19 more games than the Hawkeyes have played this season.

Three Hawkeyes scored in double figures, including Clark’ (39), junior Monika Czinano (17), and sophomore McKenna Warnock (19).

Clark recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 39 points and 10 rebounds.

Clark now ranks third on Iowa’s all-time freshman scoring list with 451 points on the season. The record holder is Jaime Printy with 501 freshman points during the 2009-10 season.

Iowa led 29-23 at the half.

Former Mason City Mohawk Megan Meyer payed 8:27 of the game and recorded no stats.

Up Next: The Hawkeyes return to action on Thursday, Feb. 18, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena as they host Penn State in Iowa City, Iowa for the annual Pink Game. Tip-off time and TV designation has not been set.
