CEDAR RAPIDS – A Cedar Rapids liquor store was robbed at gunpoint and a suspect remains at-large.
On Thursday, November 19 at approximately 7:30 PM, Cedar Rapids police officers responded to the Hy-Vee at 3235 Oakland Road NE for an armed robbery. A Hy-Vee employee called to report a clerk working in the Wine and Spirits area was robbed at gunpoint.
Officers arrived on scene and searched the area for the suspect described as a black male wearing a black sweatshirt and black face mask armed with a handgun.
The suspect was not located. There is an ongoing investigation.
No injuries were reported.
I’m so sorry that you didn’t read this, and understand it. That isn’t racist in the least. What were the witnesses supposed to say that you wouldn’t consider racist? Dark colored clothes? Dark colored mask? Very dark gray sweatshirt? What would please you?

The comment was meant to poke fun at the article for using the word ‘black’ several times in the suspect’s description. Often, the descriptions of Black perps are so PC vague they are of no use. Let’s hear you counter that fact using an argument with substance.
