RURAL IOWA FALLS – An elderly Iowa Falls man was killed Tuesday evening when his pickup truck slammed into a tree and flipped over.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident took place Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at about 5:57 PM at 23386 130th Street in rural Iowa Falls. Vernon Caruth, age 81 of Iowa Falls, was driving on private property when his 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck struck a tree, flipped over and came to rest. Caruth, the Patrol says, may have suffered a medical condition and succumbed to injuries at hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa Falls Fire/EMS.
