RINGSTED, IOWA – A Northern Iowa woman faces a range of charges after police discovered a distressed man walking along a desolate highway.
A Ringsted woman is facing charges as the result of an investigation on August 16th 2020. According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, a sheriff’s deputy on patrol in Ringsted shortly before 0200am observed a male walking in the 300 block of East Maple Street in Ringsted. Upon investigation it was determined that he had been the victim of an assault that had taken place approximately a half-hour earlier. Sheriff’s deputies were able to make contact with the suspect in Armstrong a short time later.
As a result of the investigation, 18-year-old Haylee Laubenthal of Ringsted was placed under arrest for Domestic Abuse 1st Offense, Possession of Marijuana and Operating while Intoxicated. Laubenthal was transported to the Emmet County Jail where she was booked without incident.
