Northern Iowa man killed, two sons hurt in Chickasaw county auto accident

CHICKASAW COUNTY – A Northern Iowa man was killed and his two sons hurt in a Chickasaw county auto accident.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on the morning of August 4, 2020, at 7:42 AM.   A Ford pickup truck driven by 19-year-old Jistin Pfister of Sumner and a 2006 Ford Freestar van driven by 32-year-old Sean Slick of Fredericksburg crashed at the uncontrolled intersection of 300th Street and Vanderbilt Avenue. The patrol says Pfister failed to yield at the intersection and neither driver was restrained.

As a result of the crash, Slick died at the scene. Pfister was injured and taken by ambulance to a Sumner hospital.  Three-year-old Duncan Slick was airlifted to University of Iowa hospitals with serious injuries.  Two-year-old Beau Slick was taken to a Sumner hospital with minor injuries.  Both are sons of Sean Slick; they were restrained in the van.
