MASON CITY – Achieve TMS Central celebrated its Grand Opening at their new facility located at 320 N. Eisenhower Avenue, Mason City. The festivities started off with a ribbon cutting ceremony, led by Mason City Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Colleen Frein and Abigail Lee and Achieve TMS staff members, Judith Hager, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Rebecca Curran, Regional Operations Manager, Angie Harris, Regional Marketing Manager and Paige Lacy, TMS Technician. Due to Covid-19 precautions, only a small group attended in person, wearing masks and social distancing, while others were able to view the opening festivities virtually. After the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, a demonstration of the TMS machine was given as well as an informative clinical presentation.

Achieve TMS Central offers Brainsway’s Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (dTMS) – launching a new era in the treatment of depression. Major Depression – a condition characterized by feelings of deep sadness and loss of interest in life – is one of the most common psychiatric disorders in the United States. It affects over 15 million adults overall, and approximately 1 out of 6 people in the U.S. will suffer a major depressive episode in their lifetime. More recently, with the onset of Coronavirus, more than a third of Americans reported related depression and anxiety.

Brainsway’s Deep TMS, a safe, non-invasive treatment, is based on patents filed by the National Institute of Health and has been FDA (Federal Drug Administration) approved since 2013. Brainsway’s Deep TMS has been tested in over 60 clinical studies in leading institutions worldwide. Deep TMS treatment stimulates a brain region involved in depression and brings significant improvement to patients. The brief 20-minute outpatient treatments allow for little to no disruption in a patient’s daily activity. Immediately after treatment, patients are able to drive home and return to their daily routine, including work commitments.

Judith Hager, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, states “the mission of our dedicated professional team is to provide state-of- the-art, high quality care in a relaxing, comfortable environment, in collaboration with community providers. Most importantly, we offer hope to patients suffering from depression.” Achieve TMS Central is currently open in Mason City and Ankeny and plans to open soon in Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Sioux City, Iowa and Sioux City, South Dakota.
