Frieda Hart, 89, of Charles City, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City with family by her side.

Frieda Hart, 89, of Charles City, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City with family by her side.

A private family funeral service will be held at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City, Iowa with Pastor Steve Hansen from Trinity United Methodist Church officiating.  The service will be live streamed on the Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home Facebook page at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2020.  Burial will be at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Frieda Marie Hart, the daughter of Fred and Rosa (Davis) Bill, was born August 14, 1930 in Alta Vista, Iowa.  She attended school in the Charles City school system.  On May 19, 1947 Frieda was united in marriage to William Hart in Decorah, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Charles City where they raised their family.

Frieda worked in the Charles City High School cafeteria for 10 years and also did some babysitting for family and friends.  She was very proud to own and operate her private daycare for over 30 years, and was honored to care for many children throughout the years.

Frieda was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City and the Foster Grandparents for many years.  She enjoyed gardening (both flowers and vegetables), playing cards (especially 500) and loved spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

Living family members include two sons:  Michael (Charnel) Hart of Aransas Pass, Texas and Jim Hart of Farmington, Minnesota; daughter, Teresa (Ed) Hobert of Charles City; daughter-in-law, Shari Hart of Charles City; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters:  Myrtle Albrecht of Charles City, Violet Klassen of Illinois and Arlene Carr of Charles City; sister-in-law, Dixie Fox of Charles City; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; son, Joe Hart; daughter-in-law, Ruth Hart; granddaughter, Brieha Hart; eight sisters:  Mae Mackamul, Clara Parker, Dorothy Logan, Lois Bill, Grace Waddell, Elsie Conway, Florence Wells and Edith Weidner; and four brothers:  Ernie Bill, Lester Bill, Elmer Bill and Harvey Bill.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Frieda Hart’s name can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City, Iowa.
