CEDAR RAPIDS – Two people were shot in a Cedar Rapids workplace violence incident Thursday morning, police say.
Cedar Rapids Police officers are working a shooting incident that occurred at Associated Materials, 3801 Beverly Road SW. Officers were notified at 5:03 a.m. on Thursday, April 9 that a suspect went into the business and wounded two victims and then fled the property.
The suspect is still at large. This is an active situation and the public is advised to avoid the area. There is a significant law enforcement presence as the search the suspect is conducted.
The two victims sustained what appear to be non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
At this time and based on preliminary information, the shooting does not appear to be random and is believed to be a workplace violence incident. The suspect is believed to be known.
