CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake trailer home suffered damage during a fire Thursday morning.
The Clear Lake Fire Department was dispatched to a reported trailer home fire Thursday, April 2, 2020 at approximately 6:34 AM. The Clear Lake Police Department and Clear Lake Fire Department responded to 1500 South Shore Drive, Lot #27 in Clear Lake.
Upon arrival, heavy fire was showing from the roof and utility area of the trailer home. The owners of the home were not at home. Firefighters entered the home, quickly contained the fire to utility and bedroom portions of the home. Major damage was contained to the utility, roof, and bedroom, with smoke damage throughout the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Damage is estimated to be over $20,000.
The property is owned by Joyce Marie Knutson of Story City, Iowa.
The Clear Lake Fire Department responded with 2 engine companies, 1 ladder company, and 1 ambulance with 13 firefighters. Assisting at the scene was the Clear Lake Police Department and Alliant Energy.
There were no injuries.
