MASON CITY – State Sen. Amanda Ragan and State Rep. Sharon Steckman will hold a legislative listening post this Saturday, February 8. The meeting will take place from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at the Mason City Public Library, 225 2nd St. SE, Mason City.
The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
The legislators will provide an update on the 2020 legislative session. Constituents will have the opportunity to ask questions, and share concerns and ideas on issues under consideration at the Statehouse.
Democrats should call themselves Puke and Snot Politics
The Dems lost their minds several elections ago. Now they’re godless, insane, and lost.
Obamacare regulations have restricted access to hospitals and doctors, increased premiums and prescription costs, limited who patients can see for primary care, and kept patients from getting the cancer treatment they need. This is SOCIALIST Medicine.
The only way to fix healthcare, is to make the politicians use the same shitty system we the people have to.
Until then just forget about reasonable healthcare for all.

Given the disaster of Obamacare, it defies logic and common sense to propose a nationalized healthcare system. But that’s exactly what many politicians are proposing. In an effort to gain more control over the daily lives of the American people, these federal politicians are hoping to bring even more of the healthcare system under Washington’s power. We can’t let that happen, and it won’t happen if we call the first-ever Article V Convention of States.
Remember, Congress was/is exempt from using Obama care. One of the first things they did was to exempt their staff members, “It was a financial burden, they couldn’t afford.”

Under Trump’s leadership we’ve seen the end of the costly individual mandate; more-flexible insurance offerings at lower premiums; billions of dollars in savings on prescription drugs, with faster approval of generics; and our veterans empowered to choose doctors and hospitals beyond the VA system, so that they no longer need to wait to receive the care they deserve.
Most recently, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has introduced the “Healthy Adult Opportunity” (HAO) initiative, improving services for Medicaid beneficiaries by allowing more discretion to states to craft options in harmony with local needs and capabilities.
Predictably — and regrettably — HAO has been met with opposition from the left, which decries any effort to decentralize government power as a threat to benefits for those most in need. The House of Representatives even passed a resolution, with only Democrat votes, condemning the initiative. As usual Democrats only care about power, not the people.

At this moment there is a bill pending in Congress called the New Way Forward Act. It’s received almost no publicity, which is unfortunate as well as revealing. The legislation is sponsored by 44 House Democrats, including Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. At roughly 4,400 words, it’s almost exactly as long as the U.S. Constitution. Like the Constitution, this legislation is designed to create a whole new country. The bill would entirely remake our immigration system, with the explicit purpose of ensuring that criminals are able to move here, and settle here permanently, with impunity. You may think we’re exaggerating for effect. We’re not – not even a little. The New Way Forward act is the most radical single piece of legislation we’ve seen proposed in this country. It makes the Green New Deal look like the status quo. A document produced by Democrats to promote the bill says: “Convictions … should not lead to deportation.” Keep in mind, we’re not talking about convictions for double parking. The bill targets felony convictions – serious crimes that send you to prison for years. A press release from Rep., Jesus Garcia, D-Ill., is explicit about this. If this bill passes the House and Senate and is signed into law by the president, there will no longer be any crimes that automatically require deportation. None.
Current law also states that those who have committed drug crimes abroad, or any “crimes involving moral turpitude,” are ineligible to immigrate here. The New Way Forward Act abolishes that statute.
A Mexican drug cartel leader could be released from prison, then freely come to America immediately. And if he wants, he could come here illegally, and it wouldn’t be a crime – because, and you were waiting for this, the bill also decriminalizes illegal entry into America, even by those previously deported.
But believe it or not, we saved the nuttiest part for last. What could be more destructive than changing U.S. law, specifically to allow rapists, child molesters, and drug dealers to stay in America? How about this: Using taxpayer money to bring deported criminals back into America. That’s right. This bill would not only abolish your right to control who lives in your own country, but it invents a new right in return: the “right to come home.”
This is a big deal. It’s hard to believe any American would put these ideas on paper, much less pass them into law. Yet, remarkably, the press has ignored it. Scores of Democrats have backed it, but the bill hasn’t been mentioned in The New York Times, or on CNN, or even in self-described conservative outlets like National Review.
Now you know why the Democrats were/are so desperate to get rid of Trump.

So, February 3, 4, and 5, 2020 were pretty much the most miserable three days in the history of the Democratic Party. I’m not laughing, really I’m not! You know how sometimes you have a bad day when nothing goes right? Well, these super-achievers managed to triple that streak. They are achievers in the same sense Hoover Snort Biden is an achiever.
Let’s start with Monday, February 3rd and the Iowa Caucuses. In their defense, it wasn’t like they had four years to get prepared to handle…counting. Oh wait, they did have four years to handle…counting. Okay, well, then in their defense they went to unionized failing government schools, so counting is hard. But not for the Republicans, who managed to count their votes just fine.
As of when you read this, they might still not have actual numbers. Audie Murphy Buttigieg, Crusty Commie Curmudgeon and Chief Sitting Bolshevik may well all still be claiming victory, while Gropey J’s handlers are likely still complaining about the process and Not Senile Joe himself is chasing an uppity squirrel around a Nashua park.
The Dems are not only dealing with this massive show of incompetence – “Okay, counting a few thousand ballots is beyond our abilities, but taking over the entire health care system will totally go smoothly” – but also coming to the realization that none of their three remaining candidates has any appeal outside a faculty lounge, gulag, or in the case of Warren, a second-tier casino.
In the wings, perched on a couple telephone books, is Little Mike Bloomberg, waiting to try to buy his way in as the sensible sorta-center candidate. Seems like a good plan. When the Bernie bros are once again denied their victory by the blatant cheating of the Democrat establishment, they’ll flock to the bite-sized billionaire. He’ll totally get the nomination, or in his case, the gnome-ination.
