College Wrestling: UNI falls to South Dakota State, 25-13

CEDAR FALLS – Taylor Lujan tallied four takedowns en route to a 10-3 win over No. 16 ranked Zach Carlson for his 100th career victory, but South Dakota State won six bouts and picked up a pair of pins to earn a 25-13 dual win over UNI Wrestling Friday night at the West Gym.

The Jackrabbits earned decisions at 125, 133 and 157 with a major decision at 149 and pins at 165 and 197.

Michael Blockhus earned a 7-5 decision on the back of a takedown in the waning second while Bryce Steiert picked up the 12-1 major decision and Carter Isley won the bout at 285 in sudden victory.

The Panthers fall to 1-3 on the season in dual action while South Dakota State is 5-3 on the season.

UNI is back in action Sunday at 2 p.m. against Missouri at the West Gym.
