AMES – Iowa State was beaten at home by Florida A&M, 70-68, Tuesday night in Hilton Coliseum.
Iowa State (7-5) built a 9-point halftime lead and extended to 12 points early in the second half, but FAMU (2-9) refused to yield. Hurting the Cyclones was the absence of Tyrese Haliburton, the team’s leading scorer, who was out with a bad wrist.
Iowa State opens Big 12 Conference play with a road game Saturday at TCU.
