Following the resignation of Anderson in July of 2018, the school district searched for her successor. The district proceeded with a search to locate the best person for the job, the district said in a statement, and offered a salary necessary to employ that person.
The District continues to deny any wrongdoing toward Ms. Anderson. However, the district’s insurance carrier decided a resolution to this matter was best to avoid the cost and disruption protracted litigation can cause. The entire settlement in this matter will be paid by the district’s insurance carrier. The amount of the settlement was not disclosed.
If the DCI would have done what was needed… the whole school system would have been chaos and pretty much shut down. Everything shoved under the rug and the school can continue to function. School officials and employees don’t even know when to thank God things were over looked but NO THEY continue to be greedy and asking taxpayers for more money for non educational upgrades. Bullying and our children’s education getting no priority. The school is a joke, the city, people, and taxpayers are fed up. Don’t think we’re not watching, paying attention, and names being taken for further action down the road. White collar crime can only go on for so long. I’m surprised any of them, including Jodi can even show their faces outside their homes. I hope they know everywhere they go people see them as disgraceful, unethical people and embarrassment to our children’s education and community.
I wonder if this shit goes on in all school districts? I know Mason City as a whole with our School District and our City Council we must be the laughing joke down at the State House. What a F**KING JOKE our town has become….
She resigned about the DCI investigation and then sued, probably knowing they would settle to a hefty tune to keep her mouth closed about what truly goes on at that school. They are all criminals, and still got raises and having enough nerve to ask taxpayers to pay for non educational upgrades at the school. They don’t even have the brains to be shameful!! They all need ousted!!

But they pretty much had to settle, on count of her ambalance chaser lawyer who, I was told, gets 1/3 of the take.
Jody Anderson is shameless and its just a good thing she is gone from our school system.
Most of the time, it is cheaper to settle than go to court. By the time everything is said and done, you have spent more in lawyer fees than the settlement.
“MC parent”, you should consider choosing a better name as you are FAR from representing a true Mason City parent. Jodie is a wonderful person and one of the most selfless and kind people I know. It took a lot of guts for her to stand up for what was right and just. I am proud to be her friend and equally disgusted that people like you can hide behind a fake name and slander her. Seriously? They all ripped the school system off and all the taxpayers to begin with. Then you defend her because she had guts to go after more money? They ALL including Jodie should be legally forced to return all the money illegally dispersed among school officials. NONE, absolutely ZERO is ok with what the school officials have done. Neither the 3 of you are upstanding “MC parents” if you condone any part of this scam by them, including this lawsuit. Our children and their education should come first and be top priority.
I am a Mason City parent with kids in the school district. These school employees didn’t receive “illegal” disbursements, as the investigation proved. This case was about equality and fair treatment. I stand behind my words and will continue to support Jodie. You are entitled to your opinion as are others on this site. What is not ok is when people can hide behind their computer and slander others (such as calling someone a “greedy, conniving b*tch”). I would hope we could all agree to that, regardless of how you feel about the outcome of this case. Let’s have respect and decency for each other. It’s a hard enough world out there already.
Seriously, they were founded illegal practices and unethical practices with the desbursement of funds and wages. The county attorney just decided not to take action. Like they chose not to with pretty much any criminal activity in this county. It’s all a cover up. Teachers knew they were getting more money on pay checks then they should have been. You negotiate your pay. This dimwit probably excepted what they offered. Then got butt hurt when they paid someone doing the same job more money. So you sue? As for equal pay. You must do equal work. No exceptions. Maybe work harder, not smarter. Obviously someone cheating. So that makes them smarter. School is a world of children. Simple minds being educated by cheaters. That’s just great.

Well who pays the premiums except us tax payers. I love how the school district has sugar coated this whole thing. I can’t help but wonder what the district was worried about with going to court? What Ms. Anderson could possibly share that MCCSD Board of Ed. didn’t want to get out? The lot is thicker than thieves. It became clear, to me, after the DCI investigation, when all of a sudden, once the investigation was over, the administration all got a nice huge raises. (Of course, to bring them up to other comparable districts, sure.) It apparently pays to keep your mouth shut during investigations. Plead not to know anything regarding anything is my take on this whole corruption that’s taken place.
