College Basketball: Iowa State 89, Purdue Fort Wayne 59

AMES – Iowa State notched a non-conference victory Sunday in a home contest, beating Purdue Fort Wayne 89-59.

Iowa State (7-4) built a double-digit first-half lead over the Mastadoons of Purdue Fort Wayne (7-8) with superb three-point shooting, hitting 10 triples out of 20 attempts.  The Cyclones shot over 55% for the game on all field goals.

Sophomore Tyrese Haliburton led the Cyclones with 22 points, six assists and four rebounds.  Jarred Godfrey led Purdue with 17 points.

Iowa State plays next on Tuesday, Dec. 31, when Florida A&M visits Hilton Coliseum.
