One dead, at least 6 hurt in shooting near Twin Cities

SPRING LAKE PARK, MN – A shooter killed one person and wounded at least six others in an attack at a Twin Cities-area restaurant Sunday morning.

On Sunday,December 22, 2019 at 12:08 a.m., officers from the Spring Lake Park Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of the Dala Thai Restaurant and Banquet Hall located at 8407 Plaza Blvd. in the City of Spring Lake Park. It was reported that multiple shots had been fired and multiple victims had been shot. Other area law enforcement agencies, the Spring Lake Park/Blaine/Mounds View Fire Department, and Allina Ambulance also responded to the scene to assist.

Multiple victims of gunshot wounds were located and treated by law enforcement and medical personnel. One victim, a 19-year-old male from St. Paul, was deceased. Three victims were transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, two victims were transported to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, and one victim was located at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood. Their conditions are unknown.

There are no suspects in custody. There is no ongoing danger to the public, the county sheriff claims. The case remains under investigation by the Spring Lake Park Police Department, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. No further information was made  available.
