Mason City police arrest Oregon man in connection with June 2018 shooting incident

MASON CITY – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Mason City on June 21, 2019.

Jacob Wilson, age 27 of Gold Hill, Oregon, was arrested on a warrant for Intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a class C felony, and is currently in the Cerro Gordo County Jail. Wilson was arrested in Oregon and extradited back to Iowa.

In the 2018 incident, the department investigated a report of a passenger of a vehicle firing a gun at another occupied vehicle. That vehicle was stopped by a Cerro Gordo County deputy and the occupants were interviewed and a firearm seized. At that time charges were not filed and further investigation; including firearm examination and DNA testing was completed.

As a result of the investigation, warrants were issued for Wilson and Robert Lewis Buckner, age 28 of Mason City.

Buckner has an active arrest warrant for Intimidation with a dangerous weapon. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the Mason City Police Department or their local law enforcement agency.
