AMES – A field goal in the final seconds proved to be the difference as Iowa State topped Texas, 23-21, Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium.
Iowa State (6-4, 4-3) kicker Connor Assalley booted a 36-yard field goal just as time was expiring after Texas (6-4, 4-3) had taken a late lead. Iowa State had built a 20-7 lead and looked safe as the game wore on, but Texas scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to take the lead.
Iowa State hosts Kansas Saturday at 11 AM.
