IOWA CITY – Former Mason City Mohawk guard Makenzie Meyer led Iowa with 21 points in a victory over North Alabama, 86-81.
The Hawkeyes have won 23 consecutive home games, ranking third in the country behind Baylor and UConn. Freshman Gabbie Marshall made her first career start, recording career high points (13).
Four Hawkeyes scored in double figures, including former Mason City Mohawk guard Makenzie Meyer (21), Kathleen Doyle (20), Monika Czinano (18), and Gabbie Marshall (13). Sophomore Monika Czinano scored a career high (18) points, shooting a perfect 9-for-9 from the field.
The Hawkeyes head to Cedar Falls, Iowa to take on Northern Iowa on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. in McLeod Center.
