FLOYD COUNTY – A fatal accident has been reported today in Floyd county, with a number of emergency responders at the scene.
The accident happened at 6:36 AM Saturday, October 26, 2019, near Rudd Park Road And Glass Avenue. The two-vehicle collision there involved a 2015 Ford Taurus and a 2003 Ford Windstar.
According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, the Taurus, driven by 29-year-old Jesse Blade, was northbound on Glass Avenue and failed to stop at a stop sign, striking the eastbound Windstar, driven by 57-year-old Ronald Fisher, broadside.
Royce Fisher, age 9, died in the collision. Both drivers were hurt, along with 50-year-old Sarah Fisher and 11-year-old Aidyn Kline.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Floyd County Sheriffs Office, Rudd Fire and Rescue, Nora Springs Fire and Ambulance, Amr Ambulance, Mercyone Airmed and the Mason City Fire Department.
