Free social event planned in Charles City on October 15 covering philanthropy and women’s health

Charles City

CHARLES CITY – The Floyd County Community Foundation (FCCF), in partnership with the Floyd County Medical Center Foundation, is inviting the public to attend a free Philanthropy and Women’s Health event on Tuesday, October 15 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Floyd County Fairgrounds’ Youth Enrichment Center, 2516 Seven Mile Road, Charles City, Iowa.

A social gathering with refreshments will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. followed by two speakers from the Floyd County Medical Center: Dr. Angela VanGilder, D.O., FACS, and Certified Nurse Midwife Judi Halbach, ARNP. Dr. VanGilder will discuss minimally invasive vein care and the opening of the Vein Procedure Clinic, and Halbach will talk about the midwifery services now offered at Floyd County Medical Center. Free vein screenings will also be available.

“The physical, mental and social health of women is important and many gaps in health care still exist,” said Diane Neuzil, development associate with the FCCF. “The Floyd County Community Foundation Governing Committee wanted to host an event to make our residents aware of new healthcare services that are addressing some of the previous women’s health gaps in Floyd County, while at the same time educating them about the ways in which they can help create positive community change for causes that are important to them, such as healthcare.”

Individuals interested in attending the event should register by October 10 at, or by calling 319-287-9106 or emailing

The Floyd County Medical Center Foundation has an established endowment fund with the Floyd County Community Foundation. Gifts to this fund and other funds of the FCCF may be eligible for the Endow Iowa 25% state tax credit. More information about the FCCF can be found at
