DES MOINES – A Des Moines man was caught after allegedly robbing five metro area retail stores.
Des Moines police say that between the dates of May 31 and June 12, two discount stores and four convenience stores were robbed. These robberies include five robberies in Des Moines and one in Altoona, a suburb.
After investigation and a tip from one of their social media followers, police say they were led to a suspect and their detectives developed the evidence to file charges. Arrested was Dan Toomey. He has been charged with 5 counts of felony second-degree robbery. He remains jailed at this time, facing court appearances.
