Two Mitchell county businesses fined for serving alcohol to minors

DES MOINES – Two Mitchell county businesses have been fined for serving alcohol to minors, recently.

On May 21, 2019, in Magistrate’s Court for Mitchell County, Iowa, the defendant, an employee of Osage Hotel & Suites, LLC, DBA Americlnn, Ashley Marie Bartels, pled guilty to, or was found guilty of selling, giving or otherwise supplying an alcoholic beverage to a person knowing or failing to exercise reasonable care to ascertain whether the person was under legal age. The violation occurred on or about May 3, 2019, in the above-captioned licensed establishment in Osage, Iowa. Osage Hotel & Suites, LLC was fined $500.00.

On April 26, 2019, in Magistrate’s Co. for Mitchell County, Iowa, the defendant, Nancy M. Mayer, an employee of K & N Mini Mart Inc, DBA K & N Mini Mart, pled guilty to, or was found guilty of selling, giving or otherwise supplying an alcoholic beverage to a person knowing or failing to exercise reasonable care to ascertain whether the poison was under legal age. The violation occurred on or about April 19, 2018, in the above-captioned permitted establishment in Stacyville, Iowa. K & N Mini Mart Inc was fined $500.00.
