MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health has found a temporary location to resume their services. The Health Department’s immunization clinic and STD/HIV clinic will be providing services at the Community Health Center located at 404 N Federal Ave, Mason City (West of Fareway) starting Tuesday, May 28, 2019. The Immunization Clinic will be open Monday-Friday from 10AM-Noon and 12:30-4PM. Office hours for other Public Health services will be 8am-4:30PM. The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health was housed in the Mohawk Square building that suffered a roof collapse over the weekend due to the severe storms that rolled through North Iowa.
“We are very grateful to the Community Health Center for allowing us to use space in their clinic to be able to begin providing some of our services,” stated Kara Ruge, Marketing and Public Information Officer for the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health. “This is a wonderful example of our community coming together to continue providing services to our residents.”
The Public Health Nurses and Home Care Aides will also be operating from the Community Health Center location. Public Health Nursing staff will be in contact with home care clients regarding their care schedule. For other home care questions, please call 641-425-2514.
The Environmental Health Services such as food inspections, water testing, radon testing, lead inspections and other services are beginning to resume. Call 641-421-9300 to schedule your appointment.
Other services will resume as resources become available. If you have an appointment with a staff member, please call the main line at 641-421-9300 and they will get back to you as soon as possible.
“Providing our services to the public is our number one priority,” said Ruge. “We are doing everything in our power to be able to resume services as soon as we can.”
